She was 7th in Ironman Hawaii in 10.02 (with 1 puncture) and European Champion at Olympic Distance (Venice). At cycling Sarah was 3rd British All Rounder, 3rd 100 mile TT, and 4th in the 3000m National Pursuit Championships. She completed a 50 mile TT in 1.58.11 (no tri bars) and won her age category in the 4km Sunday Times National Fun Run (Hyde Park) on the same day 1987 Sarah Springman was British Middle (Norwich) & Olympic Distance (Canterbury) Champion; 2nd in Ironman Finland in 9 hrs 52 mins (including 2 punctures); 2nd in Marseilles (European Olympic Distance Championships); 2nd in Roth (European Middle Distance Championships); won 3 team Gold Medals for GB with Sarah Coope and other partners in these three European Championships; 5th in Ironman Hawaii in 10 hrs 7 mins; and completed the London Marathon in 2.59.06
