2007 Club Triathlon Championships

Introduction

The objective of the Club Championship is to encourage wide representation by club members in selected local and important National events, including the National Club Relay Champs.

Age Categories

There will be top three prizes in the overall club championship and a winner for each age group (age group B and above) for both male and female based on age on 31^st December 2007. Top three finishers will not be eligible for an age group prize.

NB A youth section club championship will be run separately.

Scoring System

The following scoring system will be used:

• In each race 50 race points will be awarded for the 1^st club member, 47 for 2^nd, 45 for 3^rd , 44 for 4^th, 43 for 5^th etc, etc.
• The highest race points scored in a maximum of three events will count towards the Final Score.
• Members do not need to do three events to be eligible for a prize, although it will obviously improve your chances of winning something.
• To encourage some head to head races and a good turnout at selected races, 5 bonus points will be added to the race points for competing in the following events:
• Braintree Triathlon on  3^rd June
• National Club Relays on 11^th August (no race points available)
• Milton Keynes Triathlon on 22^nd July
• Roade Sprint Triathlon on 23^rd Sept
• A maximum of 15 bonus points (i.e. 3 events) can be added to the race points. The maximum of 15 bonus points must include 5 bonus points from the Roade Tri otherwise the maximum is reduced to 10 bonus points.
• Members will be ranked according to the highest Final Score (race points from a maximum of three races plus up to 15 bonus points).
• In the event of a tie, final positions will be determined by overall positions in any head to head races, followed by total time taken in those head to head races.

26^th Aug                  Bedford Classic Triathlon (olympic)

8^th Sep                    Vitruvian (middle distance)

23^rd Sep                  Roade Triathlon (sprint)
